📔 Overview
This course provides a foundation for advanced security classes: covers basic principles, with most of the focus being on security for computer networks.
Much of this course focuses on:
- Identifying network threats (who attacks and why),
- Network attack and vulnerabilities (how to they get in),
- and Defense (how to stop or mitigate them)
Extra: Privacy and recent network security topics
Prerequisites:
You should know:
- Basics of how computers work (CPU, virtual memory, …)
- Programming experience - how programs can break (IT001 - IT004)
- Basics of how computer networks work (IT005)
- Background knowledge of cryptography (NT219) – for students majoring in Information Security
